The NM Chapter of the ACS is seeking research abstracts for presentation during the upcoming Annual Meeting. Abstracts accepted for podium presentation will be presented during the William W. Kridelbaugh Resident and Trainee Research competition on September 20th, 2025.

First, second and third place podium presenters will receive a cash prize! Abstracts accepted as posters will be presented on September 19th, 2025 during the late afternoon session. All trainees are welcome including pre-medical and medical students as well as residents and fellows.

All categories of research are welcome including basic science, translational research and clinical studies.

SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS

• The deadline is July 15, 2025.
• Online submissions only.
• Upload graphs, charts or videos as directed on the abstract submission form.
• You will make the selection of your first choice of either podium presentation or poster. When you enter your abstract, you will be asked to complete these sections: 
  
  Background, Objective, Methods, Results, and Conclusion
   

SUBMISSION ELIGIBILITY 

• All residents and research trainees enrolled in general surgery or surgical specialty residency training or fellows-in-training programs in New Mexico.
• Medical students enrolled in a medical school in New Mexico – with an interest in surgery.
• The entry should represent the original work done by the authors.
