The Program Committee of the Ohio Chapter of the American College of Surgeons (OH-ACS) is accepting abstracts for consideration for the resident paper competitions being held during the 2026 OH-ACS Annual Meeting on May, 8-9, 2026 at the Cincinnati Westin Hotel in Cincinnati.
SUBMISSION ELIGIBILITY
§ All residents and research trainees enrolled in general surgery or surgical specialty residency training programs in Ohio.
§ Medical students enrolled in a medical school in Ohio – with an interest in surgery.
§ The entry should represent the original work done by the authors.
§ Submission of an abstract constitutes a commitment by the submitting author to be present on May 8-9, 2026 if his/her abstract is accepted.
SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS
§ Submit the abstract or case using the online submission form by February 13, 2026, at 11:45 pm ET
§ Two categories – CLINICAL/BASIC RESEARCH or SPECTACULAR CASES
RESIDENT RESEARCH COMPETITION: Residents and medical students are invited to submit their scientific abstract, in clinical or basic science, to the chapter Resident Research Competition. Selected abstracts will be invited for a podium or quickshot presentation.
SPECTACULAR CASES: Residents and medical students are invited to submit abstracts of cases with spectacular significance due to a multidisciplinary approach in management. Selected cases will be presented to expert panel members, followed by an interactive discussion at the Ohio Chapter ACS Annual Meeting

§ Upload graph or charts as directed on the abstract submission form.
§ When you enter your abstract, you will be asked to complete these sections:
Abstracts: Background, Objective, Methods, Results and Conclusion
Case Reports: Introduction/Objective, Case Presentation, Discussion and Conclusion
